I guess the post from a few days ago wasn’t clear. On the weekend of the 4th. Any firework that you have PLEASE set off. No RESTRICTIONS!

Attention to the citizens of Brooksville. The use of fireworks during the holidays especially 4th of July has been overlooked. With the legalization of larger fireworks over the years and the increasing number of people buying them we need to address the issue of fireworks. The purchase of these are completely legal but the use of them within the city limits is not. The use of the large blast fireworks are not and will not be permitted. The “Mortar” type fireworks are the most commonly used fireworks to produce the large explosions. If there is a complaint or an officer witnesses these, you will be asked to put them away.

The use of general bottle rockets and fountains will be permitted as always.

We ask that you wait until the holiday weekend to light these. The other ask is to stop the use of these around 10:30pm each night. When the 4th of July weekend is over the use of these will not be permitted.

We want to honor our country and its 250th anniversary but we need to do this with respect to our neighbors. If you have any questions or concerns reach out. We can work out the details of your wants or needs.

With the heat index expected to hit 100 degrees next week, we are making adjustments to our collection schedule to keep our team members safe.

We are respectfully asking to start collection one hour earlier in your community Monday, June 20 through Friday, July 3, to help collect the majority of customers before the daily high temperatures are reached. Please help us communicate to residents the importance of placing material curbside the night before collection to avoid missed stops. We appreciate your assistance and understanding.

To protect our essential workers during extreme heat, Rumpke crews may be starting routes earlier than usual.
