Not all of our animals are posted online, so it is important to come in and look. Only you the owner can truly identify your pet. We do not give information over the phone on animals we have at the shelter because we do not want to tell you your animal is not here if it is. If you can bring a photo of your missing pet when you visit we can attach your photo to a Lost Report you will fill out befor

If you are interested in a particular animal please make note of it's Animal ID # and call the office during regular business hours at (352)796-5062 or email us anytime at [email protected] to inquire about the animal. Our animals come into the shelter as strays so we usually don't have much information or any history on the animal. Adoption fees are as follows:

DOGS
Small breed (under 25lbs) and puppies (6mo & under): $70
Adult dogs: $50
Seniors & HW positive: $25

CATS
Kittens (6mo & under): $40
Adult cats: $20


All animals are now fully vetted before leaving the shelter. Adoptions include the following:

Dogs - spay or neuter, 1-yr rabies vaccination, DA2PP, Bordatella, heartworm test, general deworming, deflea, and 1-yr animal license for Hernando County residents

Cats - spay or neuter, 1-yr rabies vaccination, FVRCP, FeLuek test, general deworming, deflea, and 1-yr animal license for Hernando County residents

In order to be considered for adoption, you are required to complete an application for the animal you are interested in. All adoptions require an approved application.
