🐝🌿 How does mosquito control impact our bees?

Vector Control plays an important role in protecting public health—but what does it mean for pollinators? This infographic, created in partnership with Oregon State University Extension Service and the Oregon State Beekeepers Association, breaks it down.

💡 Key takeaways:
• Spraying at night helps protect bees when they’re not active
• Careful product selection reduces risk to pollinators
• Communication with beekeepers is essential
• Responsible practices mean we can protect BOTH people and pollinators

Healthy communities need both safe environments and thriving pollinators. 🌼🐝 Take a look and learn how science-based vector control supports both!

When choosing a repellent, be sure to pick one that includes ONE of these EPA approved active ingredients: DEET, Picaridin, Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus or IR3535. Look for one of those active ingredients in at least a 20% concentration. The higher the percentage of the active ingredient, the longer the coverage will last without needing to reapply. Essential oils, bracelets, stickers/patches, plants, candles etc....are ineffective. The best defense against bites when you notice mosquitoes is to apply a safe and effective repellent according to it's product label.
