Broomall Fire Company

Broomall Fire Company Established in 1923, the Broomall Fire Company remains 100% volunteer serving the residents of Marple and Southern Radnor Township.

The Broomall Fire Company (BFC or Company 53) was established on January 8th, 1923 by a group of twenty-six men whose sole purpose was to establish fire protection for the growing Marple Township community. f North Malin Road and West Chester Pike. It is staffed by over 90 members with approximately 65 men and women who are active firefighters. Our entire membership is 100% volunteer!

It’s graduation season! Over the past few weeks, several members of the BFC have graduated from their respective programs.

Congratulations to the Marple Newtown High School class of 2026! A big shout out to Firefighters Marco Rizzi, Ryan Mulhern and Michael Torelli who earned their diplomas this past week. These members all completed their Firefighter 1 ProBoard certifications while attending high school and participating in several other extracurricular programs. Way to go, Gents!

On Thursday evening, Squad 53 along with Engine 19 from the Lansdowne Fire Company attended the Delaware County Community College Municipal Police Academy Graduation. Firefighter Luca Rizzi was among the graduates of Class #175 and is beginning his career in Law Enforcement on Monday. We have no doubt you will be a great asset to the communities you serve!

Earlier this month, Firefighter Will Junod graduated from the Delaware County Emergency Services Training Center completing the Firefighter 1 curriculum. This takes nearly 200 hours of classroom and practical skills training to complete. FF Junod is already enrolled in an EMT program and is proving to be a great addition to our team!

Congratulations to our members from the Broomall Fire Company for all of your efforts!

During our June Company Meeting, Firefighters Marco Rizzi and Will Junod were recognized for earning their Black Helmet and Shield!

Firefighter Marco Rizzi joined the company as soon as he was eligible - quite literally on the day he turned old enough to become a member. Since then, FF Rizzi has successfully completed his ProBoard certifications along with numerous additional trainings. He also completed a two-week internship with Chester County Department of Emergency Services, where he participated in a large-scale active threat exercise and assisted during a multi-alarm fire by helping coordinate housing for displaced residents.

Firefighter Will Junod quickly became an active member with the BFC after joining the company. In a short period of time, FF Junod completed several fire service training courses and has become involved in several company projects. He is currently enrolled in the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program being offered through Radnor Fire Company and continues to add skills to his Fire and EMS portfolio.

Congratulations to both FF Rizzi and FF Junod!

Congratulations, Firefighter Will Junod, for completing the Firefighter 1 course! Over 200 hours of training goes into this accomplishment.

Well done, FF Junod!

Over the holiday weekend our FF1 course completed their final burn West Chester Fire Department Training Center. This training completes the students modular training and combined with the mod 4 test, allows them to pass FF1 course. The students have another few days for Proboard testing for national certification. This course is only the start for these students firefighting careers. We look forward to seeing all come back for more courses.
Great work to the spring 2026 FF1 Course!

With help from Paoli Fire Company, our company drill this past Monday spent time reviewing the basics of Tanker Operations. While this skill is very uncommon in Marple TWP, our mutual aid calls have us traveling to farther areas where there may not be any hydrants. In this case, tankers such as Paoli’s Engine 03-5 would be needed to supply water for firefighting efforts.

This drill was extremely successful thanks to Randall, Ben, Rylan, John, and Sam from Paoli Fire Company. Thank you so much for traveling to Broomall and training alongside our crews!

A heartfelt Happy EMS Week to our EMS counterparts at Marple Township Ambulance Corps and Radnor Fire Company. The hard work of the Paramedics and EMTs is recognized annually during this week in May and we’re proud to support all of you as you have us for many years.

This past week, crews from Broomall Fire Company assisted the Newtown Square Fire Company by staffing during the PGA Tournament. From 5:00 AM until 8:00 PM each day, our members stood by and responded to various emergencies, including providing support to Main Line Health EMS.

The PGAs brought an impressive number of visitors to the region. With nearly 40,000 attendees at any given time, this doubled, if not tripled, the amount of people spending time and traveling in our area.

This is all possible thanks to many volunteer hours throughout the entire event! Thanks to all the crews who stood by the event, staffed our fire stations and responded to an exhausting call volume for our region.
