It is disappointing to announce, due to the inclement weather forecast, the Marple Township Fall Festival will be CANCELLED this year. There are no available rain dates, and the Fireworks event is rescheduled to the Christmas Tree Lighting, which will occur on Saturday, December 2nd. We will post additional information on this and other community events in the very near future.

Pipe Replacement Scheduled on Palmers Mill Road in Marple Township of Marple

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that pipe replacement is scheduled on Palmers Mill Road in Marple Township, Delaware County, as part of a project to address stormwater management on over 90 state highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Monday, July 31, through mid-August, a 24/7 road closure is scheduled on Palmers Mill Road between Route 252 (Newtown Street Road) and Martins Run Road. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Route 252 (Newtown Street Road), Cedar Grove Road and Route 320 (Sproul Road)

Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.
