As a national nonprofit, we make multi-year, philanthropic investments in talented education leaders from around the country who are building networks of excellent public charter schools. We seek to fund existing schools that are doing a great job serving students and want to expand their impact. To date, we’ve funded 1,000 schools that serve nearly 500,000 students in 28 states, and we’re just getting started.

Chronic absenteeism is one of the most pressing crises in American education. In Washington, D.C. alone, 44% of students are chronically absent.
At Friendship Public Charter School, they are combating chronic absenteeism with an intentional culture where every adult in the building owns every child's success.

Their secret sauce?
"It's intervention. And our all-hands-on-deck approach."
- Principal Gregory Spears

Across the country students are arriving in middle and high school with gaps in foundational math skills, and teachers are working hard to meet them where they are.

Brooke Charter Schools was recently featured in Education Week for their thoughtful approach to helping older students catch up on foundational math skills. By weaving structured review and fluency practice into daily lessons, Brooke's teachers are ensuring no student gets left behind.

Some of the most high-performing schools are built by individuals who refuse to give up on kids.

Liza Bercovici lost her daughter Gabriella at age 13. In her memory, she built Everybody Dance LA! and two of California's top-ranked public charter schools, the Gabriella Charter Schools.

20 years later, Gabriella Charter Schools integrate daily dance into rigorous academics and are sending thousands of students on pathways to college and beyond.

Even the most ambitious strategic plan can stall when it doesn't translate into focused annual priorities – leaving teams overwhelmed, efforts misaligned, and results underwhelming.

This newly published CSGF Insight draws on lessons learned from leaders at DREAM, Carmen Schools of Science and Technology, and Prospect Schools to explore what it takes to make strategy impactful. Their experiences offer practical guidance on how to prioritize, lead cross-functionally, and balance ambition with what teams can realistically carry in a given year.

Read the Insight to explore the habits, tools, and leadership behaviors that bridge strategy and ex*****on.
