So if an igneous rock turns into sedimentary rock, where does the igneous rock come from? When metamorphic rock is heated it melts and turns into magma like this pick. When that cools it turns into igneous rock!

Check out this marble! Heat (and lots of it) and pressure can turn a sedimentary or igneous rock into a metamorphic rock like this marble. Inside the Earth there is lots of heat from pressure. There is also heat from radioactive decay.

The picture on the top is of quartz, a type of Igneous Rock. Weather (rain, wind and things like that) will eventually sediment. Sediment (picture on the bottom) is little pieces of rock.
