Local employers, entrepreneurs and leaders gathered on July 30 for the annual Mayor’s Business Forum to discuss local economic trends, legislative updates and workforce growth.

Highlights included a demographic update from CCOB Economist Jeff Romine on changing housing and workforce needs, as well as a presentation on potential regional economic opportunities connected to the Sundance Film Festival moving to neighboring Boulder.

Open dialogue between city leadership and business owners helps ensure Broomfield remains a vibrant place to live, work and shop.

TOMORROW is National Night Out 2026! Broomfield joins other communities across the nation to celebrate this all-hazard safety event at the Broomfield County Commons Park. There will be interactive learning stations, all-hazard preparedness education centers, a demonstration by North Metro Fire Rescue District showing an extrication from a car, a police K-9 demonstration, an interactive SWAT display and a chance for kids to climb on giant city vehicles! The 2026 National Night Out event is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We hope to see you there! 🚓

I participated in a Broomfield Mayors panel to commemorate our 65th Anniversary as a City along with Mayors Stuart, Quinn and Ahrens. We all served as Mayor during our 25 years as a City and County. This week we welcomed student delegates from Ueda, Japan as part of our Sister Cities program.
This year is especially meaningful because we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Broomfield-Ueda Sister Cities relationship. For a quarter of a century, our communities have been connected by mutual respect, cultural exchange, and lasting friendship. What began 25 years ago has grown into a partnership that continues to enrich both Broomfield and Ueda.
One of the greatest successes of that partnership is the student exchange program. This is the 11th time Broomfield has had the privilege of hosting students from Ueda, and each exchange reminds us why this program is so important.

The students are truly the heart and soul of our sister city relationship. Through experiences like this, young people have the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, learn from one another, and build friendships that cross cultures and continents. Those connections don't just shape this week—they often last a lifetime. Thank you to Broomfield Sister Cities, Broomfield Crossing Rotary and our amazing host families!
