Flatirons Habitat new Executive Director Dan McColley and the Flatirons Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors touring the new modular factory in Boulder, CO. The modular factory will provide the opportunity for the organization to build with greater efficiency in both time and construction costs. The first house will be started in the fall of 2024.

It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news that Susan Lythgoe, Flatirons Habitat for Humanity Executive Director for the past decade, has passed away. Susan was a force for tremendous good in our community throughout her life and career. She's touched the lives of so many through her work with affordable housing, education, and as a leader, mentor, and friend. Her legacy lives on through all of these efforts and through The Susan Lythgoe Vasquez House, an affordable co-housing rental property Flatirons Habitat operates in Broomfield that Susan was instrumental in making a reality. We will miss her deeply.

Our vision: a world where everyone has a decent place to live At Flatirons Habitat for Humanity, we know that a world in which every person has a decent place to live is also a more educated and equitable world. By creating opportunities for affordable homeownership, we strengthen families and communities.

Our mission: to build strength, stability, self-reliance - and shelter We partner with the people in our community - and across the world - to help them build or improve a place to call home. Habitat homeowners build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With the support of our volunteers, partners, and donors, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build better lives for themselves and for their families.

Our history: serving our community for 25 years We were chartered as a Habitat for Humanity International affiliate in 1993. Our first homeowners, the Portillos, moved into their Habitat home on May 21, 1994. Since then, we have served nearly 100 families in Boulder-Broomfield by building, repairing, and rehabilitate homes. We also fund the construction of homes abroad through tithing, and participate in Global Village Trips in the countries where we tithe.
