Take a survey!

The Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC) is inviting all working-age residents (approximately 18-65 years old) to participate in an important regional survey to assess the impact of COVID-19 on employee commuting and remote work trends in Southeastern Wisconsin.

The pandemic rapidly changed the way employees work, with many having to quickly shift to working from home and/or adapting to stricter workplace safety guidelines. Responses from working-age residents in your respective communities can help SEWRPC understand remote work adoption rates and help guide strategies for regional alternative transportation programs in a post-pandemic future. An analysis of the survey results will be posted to SEWRPC’s website later this spring or summer.

This survey applies to all working-age residents (approximately 18-65 years old) in the seven-county Southeastern Wisconsin Region, regardless of their level of experience with remote work. This survey consists of 12 questions and will take about 5-10 minutes to complete. The survey link will be open for responses from Wednesday, March 17 through Friday, April 23, 2021. All responses are completely confidential.

Please note! The Brown Deer Public Library will be closed to the public to move into their new building through Tuesday, February 16th! Stay up to date on the closure and opening of the new building on their page! We can't wait to see it all put together!

We're about to move!

The last day that the library will be open in its current building will be Saturday February 6th.

Between Monday February 8th and Tuesday February 16th, the library will be moving into its new location. All library services will be suspended during this brief time.

Beginning Wednesday February 17th, the library will open its drive-through at the new location for pickup services. Some integral pieces of equipment and technology will not be installed until late February, so the goal is for the entire building to open the beginning of March. But in the meantime, the drive-through will be open for pickup, using the library's current curbside pickup hours.

More details, photos, and video walk-throughs of the new building will be coming soon!

01/14/2021

The North Shore Health Department is providing a limited number of COVID-19 vaccines to individuals who qualify as 1a providers under Wisconsin’s COVID-19 vaccination plan.
Health care providers are individuals who provide direct patient service (compensated or uncompensated) or engage in health care services that place them into contact with patients who are able to transmit COVID-19 or infectious material containing the COVID-19 virus.

NSHD is directly contacting organizations who have reached out to the health department to verify their status as 1a providers. We are working with these organizations and contacting them when vaccine appointments are available for their qualified staff. We are also encouraging organizations who have employees who qualify as 1a health care providers to sign up at www.healthymke.com. The Milwaukee Area COVID-19 Vaccine Connector Tool will link these providers with participating vaccinator organizations throughout Milwaukee County.

NSHD is not currently vaccinating members of the general public. NSHD is also not currently vaccinating those who qualify in the Wisconsin’s 1B phase, including older adults. NSHD will alert the media and the public when we have appointments available for those in the 1B phase.

NSHD started a list of older adults in 1B, but this is not a list of people who will get the vaccine. This list is for people who want information regarding when and where they can get the vaccine. If you have residents who want to receiving this information, they can complete the following form: https://form.jotform.com/210125581252142 and will receive updates on where and when older adults can get the COVID-19 vaccine.

We thank everyone for their patience during the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine.

NSHD COVID-19 Vaccine Updates Email List: https://form.jotform.com/210125581252142

Thank you for your patience as we work to vaccinate all of our North Shore Phase 1A health care providers.
