As the weather gets warmer and the Fourth of July approaches, residents are reminded of the Village of Brown Deer’s local Firework sale and discharge ordinance. Village Ordinance Sec. 34-28 (e)-(h) advises that no person can sell or discharge fireworks within the village. This ordinance is enforced year-round and applies for personal usage even during special Village events and holidays. For more information, please refer to the Ordinance.

CLICK IT OR TICKET

The Brown Deer Police Department is reminding everyone to buckle up.

Seat belts save lives and are your best defense in a crash. During the “Click It or Ticket” campaign, officers will be watching for unbuckled drivers and passengers to help keep our community safe.

✅ Buckle up before you drive
✅ Make sure every passenger is secured
✅ Put phones away and stay focused
✅ Drive safely and responsibly

A seat belt takes seconds to use but can make all the difference.

During National Police Week, The Brown Deer Police Department remembers Officer Jill Zeise, who passed away five years ago on May 9, 2021, after her courageous battle with breast cancer. Officer Zeise served from 2003 to 2020, and during that time she was a field training officer, shift leader, school resource officer, investigator, and community outreach officer. Officer Zeise was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, but served the citizens of Brown Deer for five more years while she fought her own health issues. In 2022, The Police Department and the Brown Deer Beautification Committee planted a flowering cherry tree as a living memorial of Officer Zeise. The Police Department also proudly displays a simple plaque and flower arrangement in honor of her. Officer Zeise is remembered as a friend, colleague, and an inspiration to us all.
