The Bayside Communication Center is the dispatch center for the Village of Brown Deer and your Brown Deer Police Department. Today they go live with the implementation of Emergency Medical Dispatching. The protocols guide Dispatchers through a series of questions which assist in determining the best response while also providing you with pre-arrival medical instructions if they are needed.

Of course, be prepared to give your address, phone number, name, and information on what occurred so we can get you the resources you need.

The Brown Deer Police Department has been notified by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) of an upcoming full closure of Brown Deer Road (WIS 100) in the Village of Brown Deer in Milwaukee County. The Wisconsin & Southern Railroad is reconstructing their railroad crossing located between N. Deerbrook Trail and N. Arbon Drive. To complete this work, crews require a full closure of W. Brown Deer Road at the crossing from Monday, July 18 through Friday, July 29.

The Brown Deer Police Department is asking motorists to be patient during the closure especially with other construction in the area. Please follow the official detour routes. For those coming from the west, N. 76th St. is the designated detour. Those that are coming from east of the railroad crossing should take N. Green Bay Rd. to W. Mequon Rd.

Now through June 5th, police officers across Wisconsin are stepping up seat belt enforcement. If you’re among the 88% of Wisconsin motorists who regularly buckle up – keep up the great work! If you don’t buckle up – what’s holding you back? Consider this: Half of the drivers and passengers involved in deadly traffic crashes in Wisconsin in 2021 were not wearing seat belts.

National Police Week is May 11-17, 2022. In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15th falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

We consider it a privilege to serve our community with honor and integrity. This week we honor those law enforcement officers who have given everything in serving their communities.
