We have seeds to give away! Each bag has a generous amount of seeds to start your garden. We also have seeds that you can dig through to find exactly what you are looking for.

Thank you to the Montana Indigenous Food Sovereignty Initiative (MIFSI), MT Land To Hand, Down to Earth Community Gardens in Washington State, and a group from Idaho that escapes me at the moment.

We appreciate these groups helping us with seeds to grow gardens and learn about food sovereignty on our reservation.

Are you a 14 to 19-year-old in Blackfeet Nation or the surrounding area? The Media Lab is hiring paid apprentices for a 4-day journalism workshop in collaboration with Blackfeet Community College and Medicine Springs Library! No previous experience necessary.

Dates: June 8-11, 9am-3pm
Location: Medicine Springs Library, Browning, MT
Pay: $350 per apprentice upon successful completion of program
Successful apprentices will receive a job skills badge from the University of Montana.
This hands-on journalism apprenticeship will provide skills in journalism basics like interviewing, research, and reporting. Then, you'll make a photo and audio news story about something important happening in your community! You'll learn from, and work alongside professional journalists and journalism students from the University of Montana. Earn a Career Readiness in Journalism Skills badge from the University of Montana for successful completion of the course.

Here are the rest of our activities for the month of May. We are taking a bit of a breather before summer reading starts! You are welcome to work on crafts on May 22nd and 29th during Craft Friday, but we will not have any special workshops during those days. Keep an eye out for our summer schedule of activities!
