We have officially entered my FAVORITE season: the “ber” months! 🍂🔥

This is when nature begins showing off. The colors start popping, the air turns crisp, and there is no denying that summer is slowly making way for fall.

Now is the time to start a batch of fire cider, giving all those warming herbs, roots and spices plenty of time to infuse before the colder days arrive. It’s also time for cooler walks, cozy nights around the fire and watching the season change one colorful leaf at a time.

There is so much to savor in the months ahead. What are you most looking forward to? 🌲🍁

Sunset in one direction. The almost full Sturgeon Moon rising in the other. I kept turning, unsure which one deserved my attention. 🌅🌕

After a day that left me needing to recharge, standing there between the two was exactly the reset I needed.

If you missed last night’s sky, here’s a little of its magic. Maybe you needed the pause, too. 🌲

Whether you love summer or you’re ready to welcome fall, the season is beginning to shift. The days are getting shorter, the light is changing, and our tiny hummingbird friends are starting their long journey south.

Soon it will be goodbye for now… and see you next year. 💚

🍄 Fairy rings have inspired stories of fairies, witches and portals to other worlds for centuries.

Now, scientists studying fairy rings in Sweden believe the fungus may grow outward because the soil behind it temporarily becomes unsuitable. In a way, the fungus is moving forward to escape what it has left behind.

Science may explain how the circle forms… but it doesn’t take away the magic of finding one. ✨

Another reason to slow down, wander and notice what’s growing beneath your feet. 🌿

A memory from a rainy summer day at Whitesbog. 🌧️🌲

Some people see rain and think *blah*. A friend and I sat on the front porch of the gallery and thought it was pretty fabulous.

The mist. The wind. The smell of the rain. The sound of water pouring from the roof. Drumming while the storm rolled through the bogs.

Nothing exciting needed to happen. We just sat there and experienced it.

Maybe that’s the thing about nature. You don’t always need blue skies to have a beautiful day.

Sometimes you just need to stay awhile and notice. 💚
