Competitive Starting Salary
$47,500 with minimum qualifications
Up to $55,500 for qualified applicants who meet Step 2 or Step 3 requirements based on experience and qualifications.

More NEFD Fire Camp 2026 fun.

NEFD Fire Camp 2026 is in the books. What a great opportunity to teach fire and safety tips, demonstrate fire equipment, teach home safety during a fire or weather emergency, share woods and wildlife safety and let the participants practice their firefighting physical skills. Participants even got to spray water on a real fire plus enjoyed lunch and some water fun to top off the day.

Much appreciation to all the participants and parents who came out to share some time with us. We also appreciate our partners at Summerfield Fire District for sharing their smoke house training and City of Greensboro Fire Department Station 59 for the water fun.

Already looking forward to next year.

We are very excited to announce our newest interior Firefighter Nathan Heintz!! Nathan has completed his Firefighter 1 & 2 certifications as well as his NC EMT. He is also the son of Captain Steven Heintz who has been serving our community since 2002. Congratulations to the Heintz Family!!
