The West Earl Township Road Department will be performing maintenance and repairs on N. Hershey Avenue, N. Maple Avenue and Peace Road the week of June 1, 2026, through June 4, 2026. If you encounter a work zone on one of these roads, please keep the following in mind for your safety and the safety of the highway workers.

• Drive the posted work zone speed limit.
• Stay alert and pay close attention to signs and flaggers.
• Maintain a safe distance around vehicles. Don't tailgate.
• Use four-way flashers when stopped or traveling slowly.
• Avoid distractions and give your full attention to the road.
• Always buckle up.
• Expect the unexpected.
• Be patient.

West Earl Township Trash Customers: For customers who purchased a ticket, the white goods/appliance pick-up scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2026, has been postponed until Tuesday, May 12, 2026. All white goods/appliances will be picked up on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

Pot hole repairs are scheduled for Thursday, May 7, 2026, on Pool Road in Ephrata and on North Maple Avenue in Leola. The work will take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Motorists may encounter delays while traveling in the area. Please stay alert for roadcrew workers on the roadway and for slowing or stopped traffic in the area.

West Earl Township is aware of low water pressure within the water system. Water Department employees are working on the issue.

The Road Department will be working on Pool Road from To***co Road to Talon Drive and at the intersection of N. Maple Avenue and Locust Street the week of May 4th. Thanks for your patience!

Frontier Communications will be installing fiber optic cable in the School Lane Farms development, Westgate Development, and the Hans Graff Development. The work will start on or about Monday, April 20, 2026. The fiber optic cable will be installed underground using Horizontal Directional Drilling, or in simpler terms, boring underground. As part of this project, small pedestal will be placed at various locations. The cable and pedestals will be installed in Township Right-of Way or within a Utility Right-of-Way. Minor excavation, usually just off the macadam roadway, will be needed for the boring process and for the installation of pedestals. At the completion of the project, the construction company will restore the excavated area to its original condition.

Prior to the installation, utility companies will be in the area marking the location of their underground facilities. Utility companies mark their lines by using spray paint or small flags. The color of the marking or flag describes the type of facility located at the location. A guide to the color code is attached to this post.
