Remembering Cpl. Daniel Wallace — 5 Years

Five years ago today, we lost one of our own.

Today, we remember Corporal Daniel Wallace, a brother in blue who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our community. While five years have passed, the pain of losing him and the void he left behind have never truly gone away.

Daniel’s name, his service, his dedication, and the memories he left with those who knew and loved him will never be forgotten. His sacrifice is a permanent part of the history of our department and our community.

Today, we honor his life, remember his service, and hold his family, friends, and fellow officers close in our thoughts and prayers.

Five years later, we remember.

Let’s go Cpl Acevedo! He’s a joy to the dispatchers.

Employee Spotlight: Corporal Jesús Osvaldo Acevedo

This month, the City of Brownsville is proud to recognize Corporal Jesús Osvaldo Acevedo for his dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving our community.

Jesús joined the City of Brownsville on July 26, 2021, and has continued to grow professionally throughout his career. On September 30, 2022, he graduated from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (TLETA), marking an important milestone in his law enforcement journey.

Today, Corporal Acevedo serves as a Field Training Officer (FTO) for Shift 1A, where he plays a vital role in mentoring and developing new officers. His leadership, professionalism, and willingness to share his knowledge help strengthen the department and prepare the next generation of law enforcement officers for success.

Outside of work, Jesús enjoys watching and following soccer, one of his favorite sports. Looking ahead, he hopes to attend a FIFA match in person someday and experience the excitement of the game on the world stage.

The City of Brownsville thanks Corporal Acevedo for his hard work, dedication, and continued service to our community. We appreciate his commitment to excellence and the positive impact he makes every day.
