Canvas & Community: The Fall/Winter Playbook is LIVE! 🎨✨

We are so excited to unveil the cover of our 2026 Fall/Winter Program Guide, featuring vibrant original artwork by youth art contest winner Xyra Ayson!

During this summer’s Arts & Literacy Festival, local young creators brought our city and parks to life on canvas. Parks are where creativity and community meet, and these pieces showcase the true heart of Brownsville.

Congratulations to cover winner Xyra and featured participants Sophia Solorzano, Luna Solorzano, and Camila Solorzano. In a wonderful gesture of civic pride, these young artists donated their original creations to our department—their framed pieces will soon be on display across our recreation centers for everyone to enjoy!
