We want to share an important update with our community regarding Screams this year.

In the past, the Library truly enjoyed being a sponsor and a part of this exciting event. At this time, however, we are unable to provide support for Screams in 2026. We are actively working through restructuring our library policies and procedures, with our main focus centered on reopening the library and providing consistent, reliable service to our patrons.

While we are saddened that our inability to participate has contributed to the event’s coordinator making the difficult decision to cancel Screams this year, we hope to be able to offer support again in the future once our internal processes are fully established.

As part of our organizational review, we were unable to locate any Screams vendor materials or payments for 2026 on file. We reached out directly to request that information but did not receive any documentation. We did recently receive a money order, which was immediately returned to the vendor to ensure transparency and accuracy. Vendors that sent materials or payments, should contact the Library at [email protected].

We are grateful for the memories made through Screams in years past and appreciate the understanding and support of our community as we work toward strengthening the library for everyone. Our commitment remains focused on reopening, serving our patrons, and building a strong foundation for future partnerships.

Thank you for your continued support—we look forward to what’s ahead!

On this weeks update of “Fionna’s Patriotic Adventure™”, Fionna Fayette™ chose to Discover Fayette PA by visiting Friendship Hill National Historic Site.

As Fionna Fayette™ explored Friendship Hill, she thought about Albert Gallatin, who once lived here and helped shape our country’s early government. 🇺🇸
She learned that Gallatin served as Secretary of the Treasury under Presidents Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, and he helped lower the nation’s debt while supporting projects like roads and canals to grow America.

Standing on the grounds overlooking the Monongahela River, Fionna imagined what life must have been like here in the early 1800s.

Visiting Friendship Hill reminded her that important pieces of America’s story happened right here in Fayette County — and we can still walk where history once lived.

Be sure to look for Fionna’s next adventure in Fayette County, PA for the Fayette County, PA 250th celebration.

On this weeks update of “Fionna’s Patriotic Adventure™”, Fionna Fayette™ chose to Discover Fayette PA by visiting Friends of Laurel Caverns.

As I explored Laurel Caverns, I thought about how this cave was first discovered by Native Americans long, long ago. Arrowheads and tools found near the entrance show that they visited this special place many years before us.

I also learned that in the early 1800s, two explorers became lost deep inside the cave for three days before they were finally found safe.

Today, families can walk through the caverns and see the incredible rock formations that were formed naturally over time. Exploring Laurel Caverns reminded me that history isn’t just something we read about — sometimes it’s right beneath our feet!

Be sure to look out for Fionna’s next adventure in Fayette County, PA for the Fayette County, PA 250th celebration.
