CASA is proud to celebrate a truly special milestone for one of our CASA children.

For the past eight years, CASA has been a constant in this child’s life, standing beside him through 17 placements and two out-of-state moves. As his CASA Volunteer Supervisor, I have had the privilege of helping ensure his voice was heard and advocating for his best interests every step of the way.

Today, we are overjoyed to share that he has found his forever family and is expected to be adopted in the coming months. Every child deserves the love, stability, and permanence of a place to call home, and we couldn’t be happier for him.

This milestone is a powerful reminder of why CASA volunteers matter. Through years of uncertainty and change, consistent advocacy helped ensure that his needs remained the focus.

Did you know that a CASA volunteer is appointed by a judge to advocate for the best interests of a child who has experienced abuse or neglect?
CASA volunteers get to know the child by speaking with everyone involved in their life including family members, caregivers, teachers, medical professionals, and caseworkers. They gather important information and make recommendations to the court to help ensure the child's needs remain the priority.
For many children in foster care, a CASA volunteer is the one consistent adult who stays by their side throughout their case.
Every child deserves someone who will listen, advocate, and never give up on them.

💙 Coming Together for Children 💙

CASA of Cameron & Willacy Counties was proud to be part of the Blue Sunday Child Abuse Prevention Brunch this past weekend.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with others who share a passion for protecting children, strengthening families, and creating brighter futures for kids in foster care.

Preventing child abuse takes a community. Every conversation, every act of support, and every person willing to speak up can help make a difference. Together, we can continue building a community where every child feels safe, supported, and valued. 💙

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight 🌟

Today, we are honored to recognize one of our incredible CASA volunteers whose dedication and commitment to children continues to make a lasting impact. 💙

She was first appointed to a case in 2024, faithfully advocating for three children until their case concluded with family reunification.

In 2025, she accepted two additional cases and now advocates for six children living in different placements. This comes with unique challenges building relationships with multiple caregivers, coordinating visits across different homes, and making sure each child’s individual needs and voice are heard.

Through it all, she has remained a consistent, compassionate, and dedicated advocate for every child she serves.

Her commitment is a beautiful reminder that every child deserves someone who will show up, speak up, and never lose sight of their best interests.

Thank you for your unwavering dedication to the children and families you serve. Your advocacy truly makes a difference one child at a time. 💙

💡 Myth vs. Fact Wednesday 💡
❌ MYTH: Only lawyers or people with a background in social work can become CASA volunteers.
✅ FACT: CASA volunteers come from all walks of life! Teachers, nurses, retirees, business owners, college graduates, stay-at-home parents, veterans, and community members all make incredible advocates for children.
No special degree or legal experience is required. CASA provides the training and support you need to become a confident advocate for a child who has experienced abuse or neglect.
What matters most is your compassion, commitment, and willingness to make a difference.
