The City of Brownsville is hosting a free Sandbag Distribution on Saturday, June 13, 2026, starting at 9 a.m. and until while supplies last.

Distribution Site:
Public Works Office Building C
6035 Jaime J. Zapata | Brownsville, TX

Requirements:
• Brownsville residents only
• Must bring ID and utility bill
• Limit of 6 sandbags per family
• Limit of 8 sandbags per commercial business
• Available while supplies last

Cameron County Partner Sites:
• Precinct 1 Warehouse, 2050 S. Browne Ave., Brownsville, TX
• Precinct 2 Warehouse, 7092 Old Alice Rd., Brownsville, TX

As part of the Ready Brownsville initiative, residents are encouraged to take steps now to protect their property and stay weather-aware.

Amazing turnout for our hands only CPR and “stop to bleed” event! We met an amazing group of people who pushed their limits during the 5K then came inside the event center to learn some critical skills that may save a life one day; all while supporting a great cause!

Today BFD crews traveled to the RTFC training facility in Corpus Christi to get a better understanding of liquified natural gas (LNG). This training serves to familiarize our local firefighters with the behavior and fire science behind LNG 🔥🔥
