Definitely a Busy Day!

We met with the Red Cross and Community Organizations today during a Tabletop Exercise.

We were able to highlight the importance of their roles before, during and after disaster happens.

A big thank you for all they do.

Participation in Tabletops like such allow us self evaluate, identify our needs, and be better prepared for our community when in need!

Preparedness starts with partnership. Cameron County Office of Emergency Management was honored to be invited to present at Elizondo Insurance Services and review important hurricane preparedness information with their team.

We appreciate organizations like Elizondo Insurance Services that go beyond providing services by showing genuine care for the safety and well-being of their clients and community members. Working together helps ensure our community is informed, prepared, and ready before a hurricane impacts our area.

This plan helps guide how our community prepares for and reduces the impacts of natural hazards and future emergencies. Your feedback can help make Cameron County stronger, safer, and more resilient for everyone.

The public comment period is open now through July 10, so take a few minutes to review the plan and share your thoughts.

TRAFFIC ALERT/CAMERON COUNTY– Daytime lane and ramp closures are planned this week on the northbound and southbound I-69E frontage roads, between FM 732 in San Benito and FM 511 in Olmito, for milling, paving and striping operations.

The work will commence this Monday, June 22 and is expected to be completed by July 3. Road crews will be present between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturday, only if necessary.

The scheduled roadway maintenance will address surface imperfections for a smoother ride and enhance safety.

Drivers should plan for minor delays and proceed with caution in work zones.
