Edmonson County Conservation District
Local Cost Share Program 26-27
The purpose of this program is to assist Edmonson County landowners by providing cost share for the following conservation practices:
• COVER CROP
• HEAVY USE AREAS (gate openings, barn access areas, winter-feeding areas)
• PASTURE AND HAY SEEDING
• LIME
• Pasture and Hayland W**d Management ($10 per acre, up to 65 acres)
The program offers a 75/25% cost share, with a maximum reimbursement of $650 per household, farm number or partnership. Applications will be accepted until program application limit of 50 applications is met.
A farm serial number, and Agricultural Water Quality Plan is required to apply.

Applications for State Cost Share are on a year round basis, however to qualify for this year's ranking you must have your applications completed by October 1 2026. https://eec.ky.gov/Natural-Resources/Conservation/Pages/State-Cost-Share.aspx check out this link for more information! Things you will need-Producers Report (available at the extension office, online or I have a few copies) proof of Education, receipts with buyer and seller information, cancelled checks or receipts with debit info, photos of what you bought or did. Some areas of investment require more information.

Here is the info for the Drought Program through FSA, for Edmonson County, our USDA Service Center is in Bowling Green, and that is who you should contact for more information.

Many Kentucky counties are experiencing some level of drought.

What this means for producers:
If you have experienced grazing losses due to drought, you may qualify for financial assistance through LFP. This program supports eligible livestock producers who rely on grazed forage acres.

Eligible livestock may include:
Cattle (beef & dairy), goats, sheep, horses, deer, elk, bison, llamas, alpacas, and more—provided they were grazing eligible pastureland during the normal grazing period.

Important:
Losses must occur on land located in a county experiencing qualifying drought conditions.
