The first FIRE NUMBER SIGN order is here. The Cadiz Town Hall will be open for pickup and payment on:

Friday, January 16 from 10 am until 4 pm

Saturday, January 17 from 8 am until 4 pm

or by appointment.

If you ordered your sign in the last half of December, and have not been notified, those signs have not yet arrived. You will be notified when they are here and ready for pickup.

We have a lovely, historic town hall in Cadiz and every year we work on improving the landscaping and preserving the building. This year we put in a new garden on the east side of the property to replace the fence that was taken out - and all of the lovely lilacs that were entangled in the fence.

Mike Para, Jason Figi, Reyne Phillips and Karen Signer all worked on parts of the garden. We have planted lilacs, a burning bush, mums, sedum, daisies, chives, and a lot of hosta and bulbs. I thought I saw some irises out there, also.

Jason Figi also repainted the railing on the ramp, the basement windows, the drop box, the bulletin board, the flag pole, the sign, the pole for the street sign, etc.

Today, Friday July 26, 2024, the Green County Genealogical Society is sponsoring a Friday Fun Day from 1-3 in the lower level of the Monroe Public Library. Retired Pastor Ron Nybroten will be speaking on growing up in the towns of Cadiz, Clarno, and Jordan. This event is free and open to the public.

Several residents in the Town of Cadiz have noticed that their property has been entered, or someone has triggered a motion detector and then turned around and left. We haven't heard of anything being stolen, but it is good to keep an eye open and buildings and vehicles locked, just in case...

Kevin Beckman smoothed out the disturbed soil around Saucerman Cemetery and seeded grass. Today, Anne's Landscaping planted nine new shade trees on the south and east. Looking good!

The fence line at Saucerman Cemetery is next. All the scraggly brush and trees that are intertwined in it will be removed today. Any future landscaping to the cemetery will need to be discussed with the cemetery manager and the town board.
