We need your help!

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the burglary of a home on County Road 225 between July 13 and July 21, 2026. There were several items stolen including a Swarovski Hummingbird crystal decorative piece, and an ornate pedestal clock as pictured below. Other items include a large amount of .22 caliber am******on.

Update at 5:17

At this time, forward progression has been stopped. The fire department have started “mop up”. Local agencies are still on scene.

🔥 FIRE UPDATE 🔥

County Roads 329 and 325 are currently CLOSED to the public and are for emergency personnel ONLY.

The forward progress of the fire has slowed, and crews are continuing to work the situation. Numerous law enforcement agencies and fire departments are on scene.

At this time, we are monitoring US 67/377 and waiting to see if a closure will be necessary. At this time, it does not appear that 67/377 will need to be shut down but we will update the public if it is necessary.

Please stay out of the area and avoid traveling near the fire. Keeping roads clear allows emergency personnel and equipment to safely get in and out and helps prevent further issues.

Please continue to monitor for updates and use caution in the area.

Today, we celebrated the life of Sgt. Greg Parrott, the Sgt of our MH Division. Greg was a dedicated public servant, respected leader, and cherished member of the Brown County Sheriff’s Office family.

Sgt. Parrott served our community with unwavering compassion, integrity, and commitment. He touched countless lives through his service and will be remembered not only for the badge he wore, but for the kindness, strength, and heart he shared with everyone he met.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of serving alongside him. We ask our community to keep them in your hearts during this incredibly difficult time.

Your watch has ended, Sergeant, but your legacy will live on in all of us.

Rest easy, Sgt. Greg Parrott. We have the watch from here. 🖤💙

This response is in reference to the recent controversy I have brought upon myself and this department.

I recently posted a phrase by accident on a feed that disrespected the death of a TDCJ inmate. The words “good deal” was intended to go in another unrelated text. I immediately deleted the post. Shortly thereafter, I received an email with a screenshot of the accidental post.

Anyone who knows me personally or professionally, knows that I have a passion for helping persons with mental illness. We have a very close working relationship with our local mental health authority and currently have several programs in place to deal with mentally ill persons.

My apologies to all whom I have affected, especially the inmate’s family and friends, the employees of Brown County Sheriff’s Office, and our partners at Center for Life Resources.

To the North Lake Area of Brown County Texas; to specifically include Harbor Point, Tamarac Mountain and Thunderbird Bay.
On October 10, 2006, the Commissioners Court Of Brown County Texas voted, at the request of board members of the aforementioned associations, to authorize the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, pursuant to Texas Transportation Code 542.007, power to enforce traffic laws.
If you happen to receive a rare citation, it is no different than any other public roadway. You will have a fine and if the violation is a moving violation (speeding or running a stop sign), it will be reported on your driving record.
As most know, we are very lenient on the operation of golf carts, utv/atv, and motorcycles.
Please be safe and observe and obey speed limits and stop signs. If your children are operating in an unsafe way, you as the parents will be responsible for their actions.
Due to the increased traffic and lack of safety precautions, we, the Sheriffs Office, may be forced to become more aggressive enforcing safety violations.
Please be Safe and Courteous.
Muffler violations, or lack there of, are becoming a focus of enforcement also.

The BCSO welcomes Deputy Lesli Tucker. Deputy Tucker graduated from Central Texas College Police Academy in Killeen, Texas, on July 2, 2026. Deputy Tucker moved from the jail, where she served as a Corporal.

We are excited to watch Deputy Tucker continue to grow and thrive in the Patrol Division.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of scammers sending false documents and text messages to members of our community regarding Official Final Notices from Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Your outstanding toll charge will be subject to enforcement on June 2. The messages states to pay the fine immediately to avoid license suspension and other legal consequences. (See below text messages)

Please be advised that this is a scam and the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will not contact individuals by text, phone call, or e-mail to request payment in reference to an outstanding toll bill.

If you receive a text message claiming there is an unpaid toll, do not respond, send money, or provide personal information.

Please disregard the communication and report the incident to your local law enforcement agency.
