📣❤️🖤Freshman Blake Nyhagen represented the Bruce Red Raiders yesterday at the WIAA state track and field championship in Lacrosse. Blake competed amongst the top young men of the state. 300m and 6 hurdles to clear. Blake ran in heat one of the finals. He had a great start and looked very strong until he hit hurdle 4 with his knee. He was thrown off his steps and struggled over hurdle 5 almost going down. He composed himself and finished strong with everything he had. Those two hurdles may have gotten him yesterday during the race but he overcame them just like he will throughout his life. Some hurdles are easy and some are tough but this young man will continue with everything his has and he will be back next year!! 👊
Congratulations Blake, the only freshman in this event across all divisions in the whole state of Wisconsin. Blake finished over in 13th place with his second best time of the season at 41.86. 🙌

🚒🏃‍♂️ Off to State! 🏃‍♂️🚒

This morning, our community came together to give Blake an unforgettable send-off as he headed to the State Track Meet! With a fire truck es**rt down Main Street, students, staff, family, and community members lined the route to cheer him on and wish him luck.

We are incredibly proud of Blake's hard work, dedication, and accomplishments this season. Thank you to the Bruce Fire Department and everyone who helped make this special send-off possible.

The Bruce Booster Club will be holding their 2nd Annual Fish Fry at the Bruce Park June 19th! 🐟
Also, on this date they will be having their first Christmas Gift Shop donation drop off.

🏆 Track and field awards was held last night at the Bruce track. The athletes and their families enjoyed a taco potluck bar and some delicious desserts.

Being recognized for Senior achievement awards, (an athlete being in track and field all four years of their high school career) were Shelby Garcia, Kimberly Schweigert, Ella Shimko, and Robert McCulick. MVP awards were awarded to junior Hannah who scored a total of 150.5 points this season and freshman Blake Nyhagen who scored a very impressive, 288.25 points this season.
