Nestled among eight connecting glacial lakes, this park provides a never-ending variety of activities throughout the year, from hiking and swimming, to ice fishing and cross-country skiing. Shaded campgrounds and picnic areas complement the park's excellent swimming and boating facilities. The park was once used as a summer camp and an annual gathering spot for American Indians. imer arrived in 1869 and built the log cabin that still stands at the park. Today Oakwood has two campgrounds with 136 reservable electric sites and 6 reservable non electric tent sites. It also has one horse campground with 6 reserveable nonelectric sites. Seven camper cabins are located throughout the park as well and rent for $55.00/ night. Canoe, kayak and double kayak rentals are available spring through autumn for $15/3 hours or $30/day. There is also a 9-hole disc golf course with discs available to check-out from the Welcome Center. In the winter, several miles of cross-country ski trails are kept groomed and snowshoes are available to check-out from the Welcome Center.

As our time to qualify for prizes is coming to a close, we have already had several groups participate in this year’s event. Don’t worry if you haven’t had the time to find the gnomes, they will stay until tomorrow afternoon for you to enjoy them.
