On any given night in the United States, approximately 37,000 veterans experience homelessness. Seniors are also increasingly affected as safe, affordable housing becomes harder to access.

At Senior Housing Services Inc., we address this gap through our Mind Over Matter program, which provides temporary housing and supportive care for individuals experiencing homelessness who often rely on medical facilities to meet immediate health needs. By pairing housing with ongoing support, the program helps interrupt the cycle of homelessness and support long-term stability.

Today we honor Dr. King by remembering that housing is not just shelter, it is dignity, stability, and health. When seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities can't access safe housing, the whole community feels the impact.
When we act with compassion and purpose, we lift all of us.
