Commissioner Wawi Tijerina’s Bruni Community Center in Collaboration with New life home health(Deyra Rubio)that changed the pace with a beautifully nostalgic atmosphere, warm conversations, and the rich aroma of freshly brewed Borderland coffee! Guests savored a delicious hot brunch buffet while local artistic talent brought creativity to life on canvas. It was an unforgettable morning of flavor, art, and community! A Special thanks to Elevate Plan Choice(Jesus Diego) and Borderland Espresso & Gifts LLC. (Fernando Hernandez) for their generous support, as well as to all surrounding communities who joined us and helped make the event so meaningful. We are grateful to everyone who participated and look forward to creating more wonderful memories together in the future.

Today we celebrated our annual Back-to-School Blast at the Wawi Tijerina Bruni Community Center! It was wonderful to see so many children over 85 leave with free backpacks, school supplies, sack lunches, and free haircuts as they prepare for a new school year. On behalf of Commissioner Wawi Tijerina, Center Director Nelda Cortinas, and staff, (Erika, Christina and Nelda I.) a special thank you to Nextera Energy, Grace Trucking, South Texas 911, Molina Healthcare, Imagine Dental, PVA Extension, Crow Cuts, Legacy, New Life, the Webb County Sheriff’s Department, Gateway Community Center, Webb County Health Services, for your generous donations and participation.
