๐บ๐ธ Happy 4th of July from your Glynn County Recreation and Parks Beach Lifeguards! ๐บ๐ธ
Lifeguards are on duty today from 11:00am to 6:00pm to help ensure that everyone has a safe holiday! With that in mind, there a few things we would like patrons to be aware of.
โข TIDES ๐
High tide is at 11:50am and Low tide is at 5:53pm. What this means is that the beach is going to feel VERY tight for all those visiting in the morning. The more the tide goes out, the more room we will have.
Please leave room for Lifeguards to move their stands, do not put tents directly in-front of a lifeguard, and do your best to leave emergency vehicle paths on the beach from one end to the other for Lifeguards and Public Safety to get by throughout the day. You may be asked to move if you are blocking a path to an emergency.
โข WEATHER โ๏ธ
The temperature is forecasted to be a low of 77 and a high of 89 with a heat index (feel) of 100. The UV is forecasted to be a 10 at peak time between 12pm-3pm.
Please remember to stay hydrated by drinking water and wear your sunscreen. Red, White and Blue doesnโt have to be Red, White, and YOU!
โข BEACH ACTIVITIES ๐คฟ
We want everyone to have fun while visiting the beach. We know there will be many activities going on and just want to remind everyone to be mindful of your neighbors while visiting. Saint Simons is a great place for people of all ages to enjoy! Respect one another as you celebrate.
โข SAFETY ๐
This is why we are out on duty every day. We are very passionate and focused on the safety of all patrons. Let this be a REMINDER that we are keeping everyone at the beach safe. If a lifeguard is advising you that you are putting yourself in a potentially dangerous situation, we are not solely focused on you. We are also thinking of others who might see someone doing something hazardous and try to follow, or be unaware of the hazards. Lifeguards are not trying to ruin your fun. We are constantly scanning and recognizing patterns that are dangerous and addressing them before things are emergent. We pride ourselves on being a very preventative team. Please take this into consideration!
We will see you out on the beach!
