Welcome to Hurricane Season 2026, Brunswick.

Yes, it is that time of year again. The season where we all collectively pretend we know where the flashlights are, then immediately realize the batteries are from 2019.

Brunswick EMA is here to help you get ready before the weather gets dramatic. Now is the time to check your supplies, review your family plan, know your evacuation zone, sign up for local alerts, and make sure your pets, medications, important documents, and phone chargers are part of the plan.

Preparedness does not have to be complicated. Start with the basics:

Have a 3 to 7 day emergency kit.
Know where you would go if you had to evacuate.
Keep your gas tank above half full during active weather.

Check on family, neighbors, and anyone who may need extra help.

Follow trusted sources for updates, including Brunswick EMA, Glynn County EMA, the National Weather Service, and official City channels.

Hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30, which is nature’s way of saying, “Clear your schedule, I might have plot twists.”

So let’s get ahead of it, Brunswick. Prepare now, stay informed, and help us keep our community safe.

Because the best time to get ready is before the cone of uncertainty starts looking at us like we owe it money.

Brunswick EMA
Prepared. Connected. Ready.

Brunswick Fire, Jekyll Island Fire & EMS, and Glynn County Fire Rescue recently worked together in a mutual aid training focused on enhancing emergency response readiness.

The joint training, held at the Brunswick Fire Training Center, covered Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) operations, mayday procedures, and firefighter packaging and rescue drags. These efforts strengthen local coordination and enhance safety for both firefighters and the communities we serve. 🚒

Proud of the teamwork and heart being shown across our region.

Today, members from the City of Brunswick Government, Brunswick fire and EMA, Glynn County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency, City of Brunswick Georgia Police Department, and dedicated CERT volunteers came together at the Exchange Club warehouse to help support the ongoing recovery efforts for the Brantley County community.

This is what strong partnerships look like. Neighbors helping neighbors. Agencies, volunteers, and community leaders standing side by side to organize donations, move resources, and support families working through difficult times.

A huge thank you to everyone continuing to step up and serve. The amount of compassion, teamwork, and commitment being shown has been incredible to witness.
