Now that the school year has wrapped up, we are keeping our kids fueled and reading all summer long! We have two great programs happening across the county for all children ages 18 and under:

🏫 Eat On-Site School Meals: Be ready for summer fun with delicious, no-cost breakfasts and lunches served right in some of our school cafeterias.

🚌 Book Space Mobile Library: Catch the bus in your neighborhood to borrow a book and eat a fresh lunch right at the stop.

Inside the Classroom 🔍

We all know that keeping students focused in May can be a challenge as they count down the days to summer break. But at Golden Isles Elementary School, Mrs. Tara Martinez found a brilliant way to keep her students completely engaged.

Mrs. Martinez transformed her classroom every single day for most of the moth of May. Her students got to travel to outer space, explore the zoo, go camping, step back in time with dinosaurs, and walk the red carpet for a special VIP day.

An incredible amount of planning and hours went into pulling this off, but the result is a series of active learning experiences her students will likely never forget. Thank you, Mrs. Martinez, for your dedication to making learning an adventure until the very last bell!

Today, we pause to honor and remember.

As we observe Memorial Day, Glynn County Schools remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in our nation’s armed forces. We are deeply grateful for their selflessness, and our hearts are with the families who carry their legacies forward.

In observance of the holiday, all district schools and offices are closed today.

It is hard to put into words what these incredible individuals mean to Glynn County Schools. ❤️

This week, we gathered for a retirement luncheon to celebrate our 2025-26 retirees as they prepare to begin their next chapter. From the classrooms to the school buses, the cafeterias to the front offices, these staff members have poured their hearts into our children for years. They haven’t just done a job; they have shaped futures, wiped away tears, cheered on milestones, and left a lasting legacy of love in our schools.

The afternoon was filled with sweet memories, inspiring words, a moving musical performance by Glynn Academy’s Landon LaRoche, and a special award presentation for each retiree.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Marshland Credit Union for beautifully sponsoring this luncheon, and to Righton Books for gifting our retirees a special discount for their first official "retirement reads."

To our retirees: You will be missed more than you know. Thank you for dedicating your lives to our students and our community. May this next chapter be your happiest one yet!

Investing in our staff, investing in our students. 🍎

We are incredibly proud to recognize Lannon Ramirez and Rebecca Scarbrough, both from Satilla Marsh Elementary School, for graduating from our paraprofessional-to-teacher program. This initiative was started hand-in-hand with the College of Coastal Georgia (CCGA) to grow exceptional educators right here in our community.

Mrs. Ramirez and Mrs. Scarbrough recently earned their Bachelor of Science in Education from CCGA, complete with dual majors and certifications in both Elementary Education and Special Education (P-5). This program allows our dedicated staff to continue working within Glynn County Schools while earning their degrees, backed by complete financial assistance from our school system.

Congratulations to both of these wonderful educators on their hard work, and thank you to CCGA for partnering with us to support our staff!
