Brunswick City Commission meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m in Old City Hall, 1229 Newcastle Street. Every fiscal year, the City of Brunswick partners with local nonprofit organizations through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program to support essential services to low- to moderate -income populations.

The Department of Neighborhood and Community Services would like to recognize and highlight the contributions of the Robert S. Abbott Race Unity Institute who has successfully met their performance objectives and requirements of the program. This organization was awarded $2,687 to support their annual Culture Fest, which provided an opportunity for everyone to celebrate culture, heritage, and the community by allowing individuals to experience diverse cultures and share positive experiences. Their agency serviced over 750 children and families.
