With support from this initiative, Silver Bluff Brewing Company was able to complete a major expansion of its canning line, increasing production capacity and positioning the brewery for continued growth over the next several years. Investments like these help local businesses operate more efficiently, meet growing demand, and create new opportunities right here in our community.

From startups and side hustles to growing businesses and nonprofits, the Center for Entrepreneurship is helping entrepreneurs across Coastal Georgia gain the tools, mentorship and confidence needed to move forward and grow.

With more than 1,250 entrepreneurs served, award-winning programming and a new microloan initiative in partnership with the Golden Isles Development Authority, the Lucas Center continues to play an important role in strengthening Glynn County’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and economic future.

Hosted at the College of Coastal Georgia for the Arts, the event recognized local students as they committed to career opportunities with employers across our community, including Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, Reeves Construction Company, King & Prince Seafood and CW Matthews Contracting Co., Inc.

Small businesses are the heart of the Golden Isles economy and community. As we kick off Small Business Week, we’re celebrating the entrepreneurs, family-owned businesses, and local teams that help our region thrive every day.

According to the latest U.S. Census data, at least 10,171 of Glynn County’s 10,829 business establishments, about 94%, have fewer than 10 employees or no paid employees. That means small businesses make up the overwhelming majority of our local business community and play a critical role in driving economic growth and resilience across the Golden Isles.

This week and beyond, we encourage our community to shop local, support small, and invest in the businesses that make the Golden Isles unique.

Join Isles College & Career Academy for its Annual Signing Day Event as students and graduates celebrate signing job offers with local industry partners in an “NFL Draft Day” style event.

This year’s celebration will take place at the new of Coastal Georgia's Center for the Arts and is part of SkillsUSA National Signing Day, a nationwide event recognizing students as they take the next step in their careers.
