This bitter cold can be dangerous to our animal companions as well. Please attempt to keep all indoor/outdoor pets inside over the next couple days except for potty breaks. Remember to blanket your horses and keep a heated shelter and plenty of water available for your outdoor/farm dogs. I can source and deliver doghouses and/or straw if need be in absolute emergencies.

11:50 a.m.
As of now, roads across nearly all of the state are either covered or partly covered. Continue to avoid unnecessary travel and stay alert if you must be out. With several waves of snow and bitter cold temps expected today, make sure to plan ahead and stay safe. Check the Traveler Information Map before you go: traveler.modot.org ❄️

🚨ATTN:🚨
Road conditions are deteriorating rapidly, please stay home and avoid unnecessary travel if possible.
The City of Brunswick is currently out plowing streets, but if you live on a street with a significant grade such as Keyte or Adams, you may have to take an alternate route home if you only have rear wheel drive.
Please check on neighbors who may need assistance, make sure you have necessary supplies, and use caution if you absolutely must drive in the current conditions.
Do not hesitate to call emergency services if absolutely needed. Be safe, stay warm, and stay home if at all possible...!

🎇Happy New Year, Brunswick!🎆 Please be responsible and safe with your *legal* fireworks and sparklers (aka; reasonable and not obnoxious- keep the latter out of city limits, please!), have a way to extinguish them fully, and clean up any errant debris. Also- please do not drink and drive...! Call a friend, call a family member, shoot, you can even call me. But getting behind the wheel intoxicated is a no-go. Not worth the jail time, nor worth your, or anyone else's life...! Be safe and enjoy this New Year...!

Snow accumulation across the county has resulted in hazardous travel conditions this evening. Many roadways remain snow-covered and may be slick, with the potential for icy areas as temperatures remain below freezing overnight.

Individuals who must travel are urged to exercise extreme caution. Reduce speed, allow additional travel time, and maintain increased following distance. Please be alert for snow removal and treatment operations that may be underway.
Whenever possible, delay or avoid non-essential travel until roadway conditions improve.

Thank you,
Sheriff Billups
