At our meeting last week we co-wrote a Letter-To-the-Editor in opposition to LD155, a law targeting college students' voting rights in Maine:

"When out-of-state students choose to vote in Maine, we are engaging with our communities. We spend the majority of our year in Maine — we consider these to be our local politics"

Thanks for writing,

Our "Before Roe" Event last week with Grandmothers for Reproductive Rights generated amazing conversation and inspiring stories! Please tag friends! Some moments and thoughts from the evening:

I really enjoyed making comparisons between reproductive rights in past generations vs reproductive rights today. I loved the passion and s***k of all the women here!

I will be calling my congressmen often!

What a privilege to exchange info and stories about the important issue that affects all women (and men) regardless of age. Important that we all work together.

I think a lot of us see the older generation as being very conservative or backwards, so it was really encouraging to hear from so many older women who ARE fighting for reproductive rights and to know we have intergenerational support on our side.

I LOVE old ladies. Amazing, powerful stories. The women who went away is amazing, and a national story that is completely buried. The stigma still exists, but it has changed for the better. We need to keep up vigilance or else we will go back to shaming and silence. Keep marching toward progress and transparency.

This is a dream come true—wise women sharing vulnerabilities and personal stories.

I LOVE women and am so impressed by the strength of these women. The stories and their persistence is incredible. LOVE.

This conversation has really reminded me—not that I ever forgot—how lucky I am to have so many options and resources available to me.

Love forming intergenerational connections. Sad how little has changed…

I love my birth control.

This was a really unique, eye-opening experience. I was touched by the personal stories of the women who participated and who were willing to share their experiences.

I felt really emotional, and I expected to. It was amazing to hear such history.

Always remember, it’s your body. Why should someone else have control over your body? Women need options!

I had no idea what the experience of being pregnant as a teenager would have been like a few generations ago. After this discussion, I feel so grateful to have grown up in the family I did with the resources I have. I know there still work to be done, but I still feel incredibly lucky.
