Did you know Texas is home to nearly 1.5 million veterans? 🇺🇸

In Fiscal Year 2025 alone, veterans in Texas received approximately $8.8 billion in VA disability compensation and pension benefits — benefits they earned through their service.

Here in Brazos County, we are proud to serve more than 10,000 veterans and their families by helping connect them with the benefits, resources, and support available to them.

Whether it’s filing a claim, appealing a decision, applying for survivor benefits, or simply learning what you may qualify for — the Brazos County Veteran Services Office is here to help at no cost to the veteran.

Thank you to all who served. ❤️🤍💙

SORRY, WE ARE CLOSED

Our Veteran Service Officers are attending the annual Texas Veterans Commission Claims Conference the rest of the week to continue training and stay up to date on benefits and claims information — helping us better serve Brazos County veterans and their families. 🇺🇸

We are checking our emails in between sessions and will reopen next week.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Office Closure Notice 🇺🇸

The Brazos County Veteran Service Office will be closed today in observance of Memorial Day.

Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. It is because of their courage, selflessness, and dedication that we enjoy the freedoms we hold dear today.

We invite our community to join us and fellow military service organizations for a Joint Memorial Day Remembrance Service and Fellowship today at 11:00 AM at VFW Post 4692 as we come together to reflect, remember, and honor those who gave all.

Today, we remember. Today, we honor. Today, we say thank you.

❤️🤍💙 To those who gave everything for our country — we will never forget. 🇺🇸

Please join us in welcoming Diana Mills as the new Assistant Veteran Service Officer for Brazos County Veterans Services! 🇺🇸

Diana brings a strong passion for serving others, a heart for advocacy, and as someone who grew up in a military family, supporting veterans and their families is deeply personal to her. We are excited to have her on board as part of our mission to serve those who have served.

Whether assisting veterans with benefits, connecting them with resources, or helping navigate the claims process, Diana is ready to help make a difference right here in Brazos County.

Welcome to the team, Diana — we’re excited to have you on board and look forward to the impact you’ll make in our veteran community! ⭐🇺🇸

Did you know the Brazos County Veteran Services Office offers community outreach and education? 🇺🇸

If your business, organization, church, senior living community, or group has veterans or veteran family members, we can come speak about VA benefits, local resources, and what our office does — completely FREE.

A VSO can offer free help with:
• VA disability claims
• Survivor benefits
• Healthcare enrollment
• Appeals & increases
• Burial benefits
• Connecting veterans with local resources

This weekend, Brazos County VSO Kale Murray spoke with members of the American Legion Auxiliary during their 2nd Division Convention hosted by American Legion Auxiliary Unit 159 - Bryan, TX.

To schedule an outreach presentation, contact our office!

Survivor’s guilt is something many veterans carry quietly. It can make you question whether you “deserve” support, benefits, or even help at all. But if you served, you earned those benefits. You are not alone, and you do not have to navigate those feelings by yourself.

Sometimes the hardest step is simply reaching out.

If you’re a veteran living in Brazos County — or you know someone who is — and you haven’t connected with our office yet, we encourage you to call, email, or stop by during our walk-in hours. Whether you have questions about VA benefits, claims, or resources, we’re here to help.

You served. You earned it. And you do not have to do this alone. 🇺🇸
