Big changes are in store for the 2026-2027 school year at Anson Jones Elementary!

We are sad to bid farewell to our distinguished Principal, Dr. Alma Velez, but we are delighted to see her step in to her new position as Principal at Sadberry Intermediate School! We wish her all the best in this exciting new chapter, and are so grateful for the years of dedicated service she gave to Jones.

We are also thrilled to share that our former Assistant Principal, Demetrius “Dee” Darnell, will be stepping forward as the new Principal at Jones! Mrs. Darnell has been a beloved member of our staff for many years, and we simply cannot wait to see her embrace her new role on our campus and the positive effect we know she will have on our valuable faculty and cherished students.

We hope our Panthers are having a fantastic Summer, and we look forward to seeing what great things are on the horizon for the upcoming school year!

Bryan ISD is excited to announce that at tonight's Bryan ISD Board Meeting, the Bryan ISD Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Demetruis (Dee) Darnell as the new Principal of Jones Elementary in Bryan ISD, Whitney Foreman as the new Principal of Rayburn Intermediate School in Bryan ISD, and Jacklyn Nacianceno as the new Principal of Bonham Elementary in Bryan ISD.

We’ve been sharing the story of this sweet girl named Daisy, a student in Bryan. There’s now a softball tournament planned to help her out and I’m told a car show is also in the works ❤️🌼

Hope is blooming across Bryan ISD for our sweet Daisy! Thank you to everyone who purchased a shirt and donated to Daisy and her family. 🧡

We have loved seeing everyone in their orange shirts today. Even our friends at Rudder, Navarro and Kemp-Carver helped lift up Daisy!

Our Hope for Daisy shirts are here! 🧡🧡

If your child ordered a shirt through their teacher they will go home today.

Shirts will be available for pickup at Jones from 3:30-5:30 on Tuesday the 5th & Thursday the 7th only in the back by the cafeteria.

Please DO NOT come to school during the school day to pick up shirts.

You will need to be able to provide the name that was used to purchase the shirt!

We will all be wearing our shirts on this Friday the 8th! 🌼🌼🌼
