Hey, guys. A good friend of mine, David Blackburn was in a pretty serious motorcycle crash this past weekend when a deer hit his motorcycle in Leakey, Texas. He was transported from the scene to Uvalde via ambulance. Once in Uvalde, doctors realized that he needed a higher level of care than could be given at that hospital, so he was flown to BAMC in San Antonio for emergency surgery. He's currently still in that hospital and will be for at least a few more days. In the meantime, expenses are adding up. I've been in contact with David and his wife, Laura, and they've given me their blessing to organize a fundraiser of sorts to help with the still increasing amount of expenses. In order to avoid the fees associated with crowd funding sites, we're asking that everyone just send donations to my Venmo as Friends and Family so that we can avoid the fees. I'll then move those funds straight over to them. Anything helps and would be greatly appreciated by a very grateful family. Please only use the link below for donations. It’s official my term as President of our Bryan Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association has come to an end after four years. Allow me to thank the others who served along with me Becky Merchant, Patrick Baker (resigned), and Myra Gott.

When I was ask or appointed by the board shortly after the slow opening flowing Covid it was an honor to step in where then President Maggie Gray would leave due to her family moving to a different city.

This time as president has been remarkable seeing new faces coming through the Citizens Police Academy (CFA). Slowly engaging in volunteer opportunities with Bryan PD. Seeing some of our alumni pursuing their law enforcement careers with Bryan PD as sworn officers and or civilian employees. Meeting new community members in Bryan willing to be involved with our local police department.

It’s my intention to stay with BRYAN CPAAA as an active member supporting our new leadership and seeking new adventures. Sarah, Lauren, Araliz, and Nancy wishing your team a successful year.

A heartfelt thank you to Officer Seth Waller, PIO and Margo Avila, for all the hours you both give to this citizens program. Your commitment and dedication to the community is making a difference one person at a time.

It’s been an honor to have been a volunteer with Bryan PD since 1982, as a Police Explorer in high school. The friendships with both police and civilian employees over the 40 years have been long lasting. I’m not wearing a uniform but I do wear the pride of knowing my love and support for all men and women who serve and protect our community daily.

To the Officers of Bryan CPAAA - let’s goooo. 2026 is our’s to make happen.

Please let me begin with expressing on behalf of Cpaaa our gratitude to the community for the support given earlier today in our first of many Garage Sales. To the donors and volunteers thank you. We spent several weeks planning and coordinating a best location and truly avoiding the Aggie Game scheduling. Well that didn’t work out However, Aggies won and we are still undefeated.

Truly, thank you to everyone for making this so successful.
