⚖️DA IN A DAY: Behind The Scenes, Beyond The Courtroom!

This past Saturday, the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office opened the doors to the courthouse, welcoming members of the community an all-access look at what really happens behind the scenes of the DA’s office!

The day was packed with eye-opening topics including:
🕵🏼‍♂️🔎 Intake & Grand Jury; How a case gets Indicted

💊💉 “Schooled” on Drugs by the Bryan Police Department

📑🗂️ Murder in Lockdown: A case study presented by Court Chief, Kara Comte

🤫😉 Some unfiltered, behind-the-scenes scoop from Secretaries & Victim Assistant Coordinators on what really goes down in the office.

🧑🏼‍💻💻📱Digital Forensics & AI which left our attendees feeling very “Big Brother Is Watching” 😂

🗃️ And an inside look at how the CPS process works and becomes a case.

And because learning the ins and outs of the criminal justice system works up an appetite.. ☕️🍩🌯🌮
A HUGE THANK YOU to Starbucks, McDonalds, and Shipleys Donuts for sponsoring our breakfast spread, and to Frost Bank for sponsoring lunch catered by Rosa’s Cafe!

We are so grateful to everyone who spent their Saturday with us, asked great questions, and took a deeper dive into the work happening every day at The Brazos County District Attorney’s Office!

✨Justice isn’t just what happens in the courtroom - it’s the work, people, preparation, technology, teamwork, and dedication happening behind the scenes every single day!

“Our office is dedicated to holding violent offenders accountable, especially those with a history of dangerous behavior. We are safer today because concerned citizens saw a neighbor in distress, called 911, and had the courage to tell the truth in court.”
— Assistant District Attorneys Kevin Capps and Robert Vetter

DA IN A DAY: Where we educate on serving up justice… and breakfast. ⚖️🍩

The Brazos County District Attorney’s Office would like to issue a SPECIAL THANK YOU to Shipley Do-Nuts for sponsoring our DA In A Day program, and keeping our participants energized for a day of learning, justice, and all things DA!🙌🍩

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day—and when you’re spending the day learning about crime, courtrooms, evidence, and getting justice, we’re not taking any chances!

Because let’s be honest…
Justice may be blind, but she can definitely smell a fresh box of Shipley’s Do-Nuts. 🍩

DA In A Day. Fueled by Shipley’s. Powered by justice.

☕⚖️ Brazos County District Attorney’s Office runs on coffee… and justice. ⚖️☕

A HUGE THANK YOU to Starbucks for once again sponsoring our DA In a Day program this coming Saturday, August 29, 2026! Your continued support helps us show our community what really goes on behind the scenes at the DA’s Office—and, more importantly, helps keep everyone appropriately caffeinated while we talk crimes, courtrooms, and justice.

🎃Pumpkin Spice, not your jam? No judgment. Let us introduce you to something with a little more prosecutorial energy…

☕ THE JARVIS PARSONS SPECIAL:
Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso + 2 Splendas

Because sometimes you need your coffee sweet, shaken, and prepared to make a closing argument.

So next time you’re at Starbucks, skip the PSL and order like you have a docket at 8:30 AM, 47 emails waiting, and absolutely no intention of being tired about it! 📧😴

Thank you, Starbucks, for your continued generosity, partnership, and helping make DA In a Day a success—and for always keeping the coffee flowing! ☕️🤎

If you and your business are interested in partnering with us for future DA In a Day events, please reach out to Jennifer Jansen at [email protected].

Yesterday, we toured the new College Station I.S.D. Career & Technical Education Center. This new facility will provide students with hands-on learning experiences and valuable, real-world skills to prepare them for successful careers in high-demand fields. Located next to the Ag Science Center, which already serves FFA students through livestock projects, the CTE Center will expand opportunities for students to explore a variety of exciting career pathways, including:

⭐️ Ag Mechanics
⭐️ Automotive
⭐️ Construction
⭐️ Cosmetology
⭐️ Welding
⭐️ Animal & Wildlife Science

Programs will be available to students in grades 10–12, allowing them to gain career-ready skills while still enjoying the full high school experience at their home campus. Students will continue to participate in pep rallies, dances, breakfast and lunch, fine arts, athletics, and other extracurricular activities with their classmates. Students will spend the majority of their school day at their home campus and will be transported by bus to the CTE Center for their two designated CTE class periods. This is going to open so many doors for these students, building their knowledge in high school and hopefully setting them up for a bright future! Congratulations CSISD!
