Brazos County Precinct 4 Volunteer Fire Department

10/14/2026

TODAY IS THE DAY,
We’ll be at Inside the Firehouse this Wednesday, October 14, from 6:00–8:00 PM at the Brazos Center, and we hope you’ll come see us!

All four Brazos County Emergency Services Districts and the fire departments that serve them will be together in one place.

Come meet the fire chiefs and firefighters, see trucks and equipment up close, learn which department serves your home, and find out what it takes to stay ready before the call ever comes in.

We’ll also have information about:
- Fire, medical and rescue response
- Full-time, part-time and volunteer firefighters
- Training and equipment
- How ESDs and fire departments work together
- What the ESD line on your property tax bill supports
- Volunteer opportunities

Bring the kids too! Firefighter costumes are encouraged, and there will be plenty of fire trucks to see.

Wednesday, October 14
6:00–8:00 PM
Brazos Center
3232 Briarcrest Drive, Bryan

Free and open to the public. All Brazos County residents are welcome.

Meet the people. See the equipment. Learn what it takes to answer the call.

We would like the community to come join us and learn more about how their Emergency Services Districts provide Fire/EMS services in your area and how ESD's work. See the event flyer for details, October 14th, 6pm, Brazos Center. This is for the ENTIRE COUNTY.

Do you know which fire department responds to your home? Who your fire chief is? Or what that ESD line on your property tax bill actually pays for?

If you live outside the city limits in Brazos County, fire protection works a little differently than it does inside Bryan or College Station. Emergency Services Districts and local fire departments provide fire protection across the county’s ESD service areas, but many residents may not know which district serves them or how the system works. Brazos County’s emergency planning documents identify the four county ESD/VFD response organizations separately from the Bryan and College Station fire departments.

That’s exactly why we’re bringing everyone together for Inside The Firehouse: Brazos County ESD Open House, a free, family-friendly community event that takes you behind the scenes of fire protection and emergency services in Brazos County.

Meet the people. See the equipment. Learn what it takes to answer the call.

Wednesday, October 14
6:00–8:00 PM
The Brazos Center

Meet local firefighters and fire chiefs. Get an up-close look at trucks, gear and equipment. Learn how Emergency Services Districts and volunteer fire departments work together, what it takes to keep departments trained, equipped and ready, and how those services are funded.

The evening will include an open house, a quick ESD 101, a conversation with fire chiefs representing all four Brazos County ESD service areas, and plenty of time for you to ask questions.

And you don’t have to live outside the city limits to attend. All Brazos County residents are welcome. If you live in town but own property in the county, are thinking about moving outside the city limits, or simply want to better understand how emergency services work across Brazos County, come join us.

Bring the family. Come curious. Bring your questions.
