We are so excited to announce that we have met the requirements to be named a Gold Rank National Chapter. The celebrations keep coming! 🥳

We are proud to congratulate Camryn Skaggs on being named the Texas Farm Bureau Ag Student of the Year. This prestigious honor comes after a highly competitive selection process, with outstanding students from across Brazos County being recognized each month throughout the year. Camryn had the opportunity to submit an essay reflecting on the topic, “How Has FFA Changed Your Life?” Her dedication, leadership, and passion for agriculture truly shined through. Camryn continues to make us proud in so many ways, and we are thrilled to be her cheerleaders every step of the way. Congratulations on this well-deserved accomplishment! 🏆🏆

This past weekend, we had two students compete at the Texas FFA State Speaking Finals. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and commitment, and we are excited to see what the future holds for them.

On Sunday, May 31, Rainey Scott and Camryn Skaggs competed at the semi-finals. Rainey received 12th place in Plant Science category. Camryn advanced to the Soil Stewardship Speaking finals. She was also 2nd place in Agribusiness and advanced to the Prepared Senior Public Speaking Finals.

On Monday, June 1, Camryn competed in the Soil Stewardship Speaking Finals and Senior Prepared Finals. She placed 2nd in Soil Stewardship, receiving a $3000 scholarship from the Association of Texas Soil and Water Conservation District and won the Senior Prepared Finals and advanced to National Speaking Contest.

Congratulations to both students on these outstanding achievements and for representing our program so well! Help us wish Camryn good luck as she takes on the National Speaking Contest in November.

The Ford Leadership Scholars program is a result of the Texas FFA Foundation and Texas Ford Dealers partnership to enhance the leadership opportunities of Texas FFA members.

The purpose of the program is to:
1) Identify students who exhibit high levels of leadership at the chapter level.
2) Engage these identified students in a leadership development program created to enhance those qualities of leadership.
3) Recognize the Scholars to build a remarkable legacy for the future of our state and nation.

Rudder FFA attended the Area XII Convention in Temple on Saturday, May 16th.

Our very own Camryn Skaggs was elected to serve as the 2026-2027 Area XII President!

The following speaking results were announced from the Area XII Speaking Contests:
Camryn Skaggs: 1st Place Ag Business (Advancing to State) and 1st Place Soil Stewardship (Advancing to State).
Rainey Scott: 1st Place Plant Science (Advancing to State).
Makaya Williams: 3rd Place Animal Science

The following CDE results were announced for our CDE teams who placed in the top 5 at their Area CDE contests:
Livestock Judging - 1st Place
Poultry Judging - 1st Place
Ag Sales - 2nd Place
Forestry/Woodlands - 3rd Place
Tractor Tech - 3rd Place
