RARIN' TO GO! 1-112th CAV conducts Individual Weapons Qualification for November IDT, night time Dismounted Reconnaissance Training, and a Familiarization Fire with the M110 CSASS Squad Designated Marksman Rifle.

Special shoutout to Cadet Wilson for competing in the 72nd Brigade Best Warrior Competition, headed to represent the 112th CAV and 72nd IBCT in February at the Division Best Warrior Competition!

The 1-112th Cavalry Regiment was honored to promote Dustin Bransom to the rank of major. Major Bransom's family was on hand to help pin on his new rank and celebrate the occasion with us. Congratulations, and well deserved!

Major Bransom has served in multiple capacities across the TXARNG, including assignments in the 3-124, 1-124 and the former Commander of 1-112th A Troop. Major Bransom currently serves as the full-time OIC and S3 for the Squadron.

In a Cavalry Squadron, there is a unique relationship between the Squadron and the Forward Support Company. 1-112th has the honor of working alongside D Company 536, and we feel that we have the best FSC in the state.

This weekend we said goodbye to CPT John Lenderman and congratulated him on his new assignment. Best of luck at Texas A&M; we know you will continue to excel. WHOOP!

The 1-112th Cavalry would like to thank Captains Chapin and Lewis for their service to the Squadron over the last several years.

Captain Lewis served as the Commander of C Troop and in the S3 plans section. Captain Lewis will be returning to the civilian world and we wish him the best and thank him for his hard work and dedication to the Squadron.

Captain Chapin served as Commander of A Troop and in the S3 plans section. Captain Chapin served as the Commander of Echo Company on Operation Lone Star as well. He will be moving to a new position at the TIOG, and we wish him well and thank him for his outstanding leadership over the years.

What an exciting week for the 112th Cavalry Regiment! SPC Larive and SFC Haun both successfully completed and graduated from the United States Army Air Assault course.

To top off the week, the 112th Cavalry Regiment swept the 72nd IBCT Best Warrior Competition. Congratulations to Cadet Wilson and SSG Ballentine for their outstanding performances and monumental efforts over the last three days! Cadet Wilson and SSG Ballentine were awarded with Army Commendation medals and some awesome Soldier plaques. They will represent the 72nd IBCT in the 36th ID competition in February.

Coming off a great 4 days in the field where we accomplished some excellent training and recognized some of our enlisted Troopers, NCOs and Officers for their hard work and service.
CPT Lewis, SSG Mitchell, SGT Myers, SPC Holmes and SPC Fulcher were presented awards for their service. They will be missed and we thank them for their service.
