(419) 636-8812 This law has been in existence since 1886.

Each county in the state of Ohio is required to establish a Veterans Service Commission (VSC) under the provisions of the Ohio Revised Code, Title 59. The Commission oversees the operation of the Veterans Service Office. The VSC hires necessary staff to oversee the day to day operation of the office. Since 1946, the commission has employed County Veterans Service Officers who assist in applying fo

r any federal, state or county benefit to which a veteran, his/her surviving spouse or dependent children are entitled. In addition to the basic services outlined here, the Veterans Service Office also works closely with various other agencies, both in the county and elsewhere, to ensure that eligible clients receive all of the benefits and services to which they have earned.

Th office currently has 100 3ft x 5ft, 100% nylon, American made flags. We'd love to give these to any honorably discharged Veteran from Williams County that may not have one or is looking to replace a damaged flag. Stop into the office to get one as you drop off your unserviceable flag in our official flag retirement box.

We are saddened by the loss of a past President to our Board of Veterans Service Commissioners. Gary served for 10+ years on the Veterans Service Commission, a board that is often not recognized for their leadership and willingness to help all veterans. Gary will truly be missed as he was a major part of our office. We're going to miss him say that us Army guys always had to sleep in our "pup tents". Rest in Peace Brother.

We still have about 30 Walmart gift cards that weren't snatched up before Thanksgiving. We'd love to give these to any honorably discharged Veteran from Williams County that may not have grabbed one. Stop in to the office to get one! Make sure you have or we have a copy of your discharge.

We are saddened by the loss of the former Executive Director and longtime service officer from the WCVSO. The Veterans Service Commission and the staff of the VSO take pride in knowing that Mary did so much for the Veterans in Williams and Licking Counties. Rest Easy.
