This morning, just after 4am, your Bryans Road Volunteers were alerted to the 5700 Block of Yellowtail Ct in the Dorchester Subdivision as the 3rd Engine for a reported House Fire. Engine 112 and Chief 11A marked up with 4 personnel. Shortly after switching over to the incident channel, communications advised of multiple calls reporting heavy fire from the home and possible entrapment. Units arrived to a well involved garage extending into the house, Engine 112 arrived as dispatched and stretched a handline to the garage for fire suppression. Engine 112 operated approx. 1 and a half hours before returning to service and remaining in the Waldorf/La Plata area for coverage.

If you drove past the firehouse today, you may have noticed Livingston Rd showing off some fresh new stripes. After all, who doesn't like a little accessorizing?
The State Highway Administration was out in front of the station adding new roadway markings to help keep access to our front apron during the upcoming the Hawthorne Road construction project starting around June 18th and for years to come.
While the work may cause a few temporary delays getting in and out of the station area, these improvements will help traffic flow more smoothly and ensure emergency vehicles operations can continue moving when seconds matter most.
So if you see the road rocking its new look, give the crews a wave (and maybe a little extra patience). We think the new stripes look pretty sharp.

Just a reminder, June 1st to August 31st.

The Charles County Department of Health is reminding our residents and businesses that the Maryland Department of the Environment open burning prohibition is in effect annually between June 1 and August 31. The prohibition does not affect backyard barbeque grilling or open fires for recreational purposes, such as small campfires. Click the following link for more information:

On the 1st just before 1:30pm, Engine 112 was alerted for a reported vehicle fire on the 8500 Block of Bensville Rd. Engine 112 responded with 4 along with the B Chief. Brush 11 added on to the call from 210 and 228 after clearing another call and arrived to a single food trailer well involved. Brush 11 deployed the booster line and got a quick knock on a majority of the fire and kept the propane tanks cool. RE12 and E112 arrived and extinguished the remaining fire. Units operated just under 45 minutes before returning.
