TRAVEL TUESDAY

📍 Rovaniemi, Finland

U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Marines participated in the force-on-force portion of exercise Cold Response 26 alongside Swedish soldiers with Skaraborg Regiment to improve combat readiness and lethality against a free-thinking adversary in an unscripted, realistic environment. This event marks one of the first times U.S. Marines have conducted this type of integrated infantry training with their Swedish counterparts since Sweden joined the NATO Alliance.

Trystan Baker, a Stroud Public Schools high school senior, is taking the next step toward becoming a Marine Corps officer after earning a highly competitive NROTC scholarship—continuing a family legacy built on service, discipline, and purpose. From the influence of a father who served in the Marine Corps for 24 years to a brother currently on Marine Corps active duty, he’s ready to carry on the legacy and to earn the title of a United States Marine Corps Officer.

This morning, the team laced up and showed out running the 5K, 10K, and half marathon not just to push our limits physically, but to strengthen our mindset and our bond as a team. 💪🏃‍♂️💥

🚨 Shipper Alert x2 🚨 Poolee Travarus Shead who’s going in to be in the Marine Security Gaurd or Marine Security Forces and Poolee Joe Felts who’s going to be a Communication Electronics Technician and are headed out to sunny San Diego this week to begin their training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot! These two amazing poolees did a lot to get to where they are today. When Poolee Shead was asked how he’s feeling, “I just reached the checkpoint I needed to go next level. With a strong family support base. I’m carrying 0 guilt; only obligation to make those alongside me the upmost proud.” And Poolee Felts(a Poolee of very few words) when asked how he was feeling, *stares at us expressionless and says, “why not. Let’s get it over with..” haha And Oorah! Give them one!!
