🚨 ELEVATED FIRE RISK TODAY – JACKSON COUNTY 🚨

Conditions across North Alabama are near Red Flag criteria this afternoon.

🔥 What to expect:
• Winds increasing to around 20 MPH
• Lower than expected humidity
• Rapid drying of vegetation

⚠️ What this means:
Fire danger is ELEVATED. Any spark can quickly become a fast-moving wildfire.

🚫 Avoid outdoor burning if at all possible.

🔥 Key Reminder:
• Never leave a fire unattended
• Properly dispose of ci******es
• Keep water or a hose nearby

🔥 OUTDOOR BURNING DISCOURAGED TODAY 🔥

Jackson County is seeing favorable conditions for brush fires and wildfires today.

Dry conditions, low humidity, and available fuel mean it will not take much for a fire to start and spread.

🚫 Avoid outdoor burning if at all possible
🌿 Dry vegetation increases fire risk
🔥 Even small fires can escape quickly

Use caution with anything that can spark a fire:
• Burning debris
• Grilling near dry grass
• Equipment that produces heat or friction

⚠️ Do NOT toss ci******es on the ground
⚠️ Never leave fires unattended

If you see smoke or fire, report it immediately.

The GRINCH will be out in front of Bryant elementary helping collect money for the Volunteer Fire Department this morning from 8a-Noon "fast time". Come donate a few bucks to the VFD and get your picture taken with him.

The Bryant Volunteer Fire Department would like to make parents aware that Halloween candy has been reported as laced with Fire Department applications. Please check your child’s candy, and talk to them about responsible career choices.

Some signs your child might be under the influence of being a firefighter are:

1. Excessive nap-taking

2. Wearing T-shirts from out of state fire departments

3. Slang words like “flow rate” and “extrication”

Please let us know if your child is under the influence of the fire department (so we can sign them up!)
