Earlier this month, FGL teacher Megan Boyle coordinated a spectacular Sportsfest event for Hen Hud students in grades 2-5. Nearly 100 children took part in the free sport clinics, taught by Hen Hud coaches and athletes. The participants were able to try out sports such as basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, cheerleading, field hockey, golf and wrestling.

The district's PTAs supported the event by providing shirts and sling bags to the students, and Clare Carey provided coffee for the parents and lunch to all of the participants.

"Our high school coaches and athletes were building relationships with the young elementary students, while all of the students had a lot of fun with friends and an opportunity to meet new friends," said Athletic Director Tom Baker. "It was a great day here - a huge thank you to Megan Boyle for taking the lead and providing a wonderful opportunity for our young elementary students!"

The Hen Hud Elementary PTA Needs You!
We are seeking nominations for Executive Board Positions for the 2022-23 School Year.

The Hen Hud Elementary PTA Nominating Committee is seeking candidates for the following:

2 Co-Presidents

6 Vice Presidents (two per school)

Treasurer

Recording Secretary

Corresponding Secretary

Being a PTA Officer is a hugely rewarding job - you can see the direct benefits to our children right away! If you would like to become more involved with our wonderful PTA, consider nominating yourself or someone you know (make sure you have their permission first).

Descriptions for the open positions are listed on the nomination form attached below, and current Executive Board members are available to discuss the finer points of the positions.

If you are interested, either complete the online Google Form or print the nomination form referenced above and return the completed form to your child’s school in an envelope marked: “Elementary PTA Nominations,” or scan it and email to Amelia Silverman, Nominating Committee Chair, at [email protected]. (Our school buildings remain open during the summer.)

The submission deadline - online and paper - is July 6th.

Please note that current membership in the new PTA is not required for someone to be nominated as we are still in the process of forming our new PTA with the NYS PTA. All elected officers must become members of the PTA once we begin accepting memberships.
