Buckeye Lake Village Fire Department Is A Combination Paid / Volunteer Staff, That Responds To Fire And Medical Emergencies Within The Village Of Buckeye Lake, Licking Township, And Walnut Twp Fairfield County, Along With Other Mutual Aid Departments. We Are Currently Staffed By 2 Paid Firefighter / EMT Or Paramedic 24hrs a day Supplemented With Volunteer On Call Staff. Buckeye Lake Village Fire D

epartment Responds To Approximately 700 Combined Fire And EMS Runs Yearly, And Covers 2.3 sq Miles Of Land and Water. Buckeye Lake Village Fire Department Has 2 ALS Equipped Transport Units, One 1,000 Gal Engine, One 1,000 Gal Engine/Rescue and Water And Ice Rescue Trailer.

We here at Buckeye Lake Fire Department want to thank Island House in Millersport for bringing us some great food, Domino’s Pizza for the Pizza, Dollar General for supplying us with Power Aid drinks, and a huge Thank you to Our Lady of Mount Carmel for their unselfish hospitality through the night, housing our displaced citizens and a nice dinner to round out our evening!

To the residents of the Village of Buckeye Lake, please keep your eyes open for high water near your residence and on the roadways. Do not try to cross water that is crossing the roadway. We could possibly be cut off from additional emergency responders during the these flood conditions, please be patient if you call in and have an emergency, we are staffing seven members through the night and as long as we need to, until water conditions improve.

During yesterday’s flooding in Crooksville and Roseville, Buckeye Lake Medic 921 was dispatched to this devastation area to help remove victims and assist in Crooksville’s EMS runs for over 10 hours, while we maintained a three man crew for the Village of Buckeye Lake, handling two fire runs in Hebron and EMS runs here in the Village. Proud of our little Department!

On July 3rd during our North Shore activities, we had a critical patient that needed to go to a level one trauma center for care, with heavy traffic here and in downtown Columbus we here at Buckeye Lake Fire Department, decided the best way to transport was by Helicopter and only taking 10 minutes. Our normal drive time takes us approximately 33 minutes without street closures and Red, white and Boom traffic. The reason for multiple fire units responding to the water tower. It takes a unit to set up a landing zone and the medic unit to transport the patient to the landing zone and extra units to help move the patient to the helicopter. We wish our patient a speedy recovery.
