FROM WEST LICKING FIRE DISTRICT: West Licking Firefighters Remove Two Victims from Early-Morning House Fire
In the early morning hours of Friday, January 16, West Licking Fire District crews responded to a report of a residential structure fire. Upon arrival, personnel from Rescue 406 and Medic 406 encountered active fire and heavy black smoke coming from the first and second floor of the residence.
Crews immediately initiated a coordinated search and fire attack. During the primary search, firefighters from Station 406 located and removed two victims from the home. Both individuals were transported to the nearest trauma center; their conditions remain unknown at this time.
Multiple mutual-aid departments responded to assist with the incident. The West Licking Fire Marshal’s Office, in cooperation with the State Fire Marshal’s Office, is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
We’d like to thank our mutual aid partners of Walnut Township Fire Department, Thornville, City of Heath Fire Department, Newark Fire Department, Licking Township Fire Company, and Buckeye Lake Village Fire Department.
West Licking would like request that everyone keep the family and friends of those affected in their thoughts and prayers.
