ADCRR Team,

Correctional Officers and Employees Week is here, and we are proud to celebrate you and your service to the people of Arizona.

Over the past year, you have proved time and again that you are the very best corrections professionals and team in the nation.

As your leaders, we are incredibly grateful for all you do. And this year, we are excited to share some video messages from a few special guests who are proud to celebrate you!

Please take a moment to enjoy these messages, and have a great week.

As we begin Correctional Officers Week, I want you to feel an immense sense of pride in the work you do. This profession demands more from you than most people will ever realize. You walk into an environment every day where the stakes are high, the challenges are real, and the margin for error is small — yet you continue to show up with strength, professionalism, and heart.

Your job is challenging. Not occasionally challenging, consistently challenging.

It requires vigilance, patience, courage, and the ability to stay composed in situations that would overwhelm most people. You manage conflict, de‑escalation, protect those in your care, and support your teammates through moments that the outside world rarely sees or understands.

And because of that, your work matters!. It matters to the staff who rely on you for safety, teamwork, and stability. It matters to the inmates who depend on you for structure, fairness, and professionalism, even when they don’t say it. It matters to the public, who sleep safely at night because you stand the line with integrity and discipline.

You are the backbone of this facility.

You are the reason operations run.

You are the reason people go home safe.

This week is about honoring the grit, resilience, and character you bring to one of the toughest jobs in public service. You don’t just wear the uniform, you uphold everything it represents. Thank you for the sacrifices you make, the challenges you push through, and the pride you bring to this profession!

Throughout the week, we have several exciting things planned to show our appreciation. Director and Warden gifts will be handed out, a fresh taco bar will be available for all staff, and we’ll be serving ice cream as well. We can never fully express the gratitude we have for what you do every day, but I hope these small gestures remind you of how valued and appreciated you truly are.

I’m proud of you. I’m grateful for you. And I’m honored to serve alongside you.

Hello everyone!

We wanted to share a short video from April 8th Tug-of-War event here at the Lewis Complex. It turned into a fun and lively moment, with plenty of teamwork, laughter, and just a little friendly competition.

If you were able to join, thank you for being part of it. And it not, this is a small glimpse into the kind of energy and connection that made it such an enjoyable event.

We're looking forward to more opportunities like this in the future!

Best regards, Ashley Karo

On Sunday March 22nd we witnessed the Mission: Luke Days 2026!

While working on promoting our Agency and opportunities in unusual heat for this time of the year, we had a great turnout, we connected with not only our community, but also communities of Surprise, Goodyear, Glendale, Tuscon and Peoria.

We also got the “front-row seat” and were honored to watch how Air Force train the world’s greatest F-35 pilots and combat-ready airmen.

From the precision of the flight line to the roar of the afterburners, we saw exactly what it takes to be the best and why we call this "Fighter Country."

Thank you to Luke Air Force Base for letting us to be a part of this unique event, thank you to all who stopped by, said hello, and supported our EE Fund by getting our Lewis K9 puppies.

Check it out yourself 😀

ADCRR Team,

I’m excited to share that several of our ADCRR staff members will be representing the Department in the First Annual First Responders Day in Florence later this week, and I encourage you to come out and support them.

The event will take place on March 28th from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Jason Lopez Park (600 N. Main St, Florence, AZ 85132) and will bring together first responder teams from ADCRR, the Florence Police Department, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, the National Guard, and others.

This is a great opportunity to show pride in our Department and build camaraderie with our public safety partners. Activities throughout the day will include:

A multi-agency Honor Guard detail will be presenting colors (0800)

A softball tournament

A bus pull competition

360 Wellness booths

Kids corner

Food trucks

This free event is open to families, and funds raised through team participation will be donated to a charitable cause. If you would like to sign up, please review the attached flyer and visit the sign-up link here. They will also be taking walk-up sign-ups on the day of the event.

I’m proud of the staff who have stepped up to organize this and represent ADCRR. Your support, whether for an hour or the full day, will go a long way toward supporting your team members and highlighting the strength of the ADCRR team.
