BUHS SkillsUSA By being in SkillsUSA you will learn the soft skills needed to successfully enter the workforce such as job interview and creating a resume.

SkillsUSA is the first professional organization you can belong to as a high school student; by taking one of the CTE courses, (Welding, Automotive, Drafting, and Multimedia Journalism), you are automatically enrolled into SkillsUSA. There are also competitions at the region, state, and national level involving job interview, and prepared speaking; as well as competitions that involve your selecte

d CTE course. Buckeye Union High School's SkillsUSA chapter conducts monthly chapter meetings with officers in offical dress, as well as weekly informational meetings every Wednesday morning.

Congratulations to the entire BUHS chapter for receiving the "Dedicated" Chapter Achievement Award. The highest level for a chapter. Only 4 chapters in the state achieved this level.

Only 10 days left until the state championships. BUHS has students competing in auto service, job demonstration, related technical math, welding, welding fabrication team, quiz bowl, photography, and for the first time welding sculpture. Also for the first time we had a member qualify in the top ten in pin design and will move on and compete at the state level.

Had a great leadership camp. Cheyanne Conn was elected to regional office. She also became the first BUHS member to earn her statesmen award. BUHS also did well in the talent show with Cheyanne taking first for her singing and Zach Bowlin taking second for playing his ukulele

Had a great day at officer training with all the other CTSO officer teams in the Buckeye district. Thank you Mrs. McLaughlin, Mrs. Aja, Dr. Mulcahy, Ms. Abe, Mrs. Tijerina, and Mrs. Lintz. West-MEC does a great job supporting our CTSO's.
